Karatina University staff participated in the Tea Board of Kenya (TBK) Training Programme held at Gitugi Tea Factory from 25–27 November 2025. The University was invited by TBK to share insights on value addition, product development, and academic training in tea-related fields. During the session, Mr. Moses Mureithi presented on tea products and highlighted the tea-focused academic programmes offered at Karatina University.

The training brought together tea producers, students, factory managers, and industry experts for capacity building in Good Manufacturing Practices, grading, quality evaluation, emerging processing technologies, and market-driven innovation. Karatina University also showcased a range of its value-added tea products and engaged participants on research, innovation, and training opportunities available at the institution.
