REFRESHER TRAINING ESSENTIAL FOR OVERALL ORGANIZATIONAL PERFORMANCE

 

A section of Office Administrators and Clerical Officers who attended the refresher training

The Planning, Finance and Administration division, on Monday, 7th August, 2023, held a one-day refresher training for Office Administrators and Clerical Officers. According to the head of the division, the Acting Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Finance and Administration), Prof. Richard Kiai, the aim of the refresher training was to evaluate the daily operations of these officers and reflect on what could be done to make it even better. This is as per the Acting Vice Chancellor’s commitment to conducting things in the University in a better way. He noted that each staff was playing a critical role as part of a team supporting the Vision of the University and changing peoples’ lives.

This training will also be conducted for other cadres of staff so that we all move as a team in order to achieve our organizational Vision. Such trainings enhance efficiency and performance by 30%,’ said Prof. Kiai.

He further called on the participants to be cognizant of the changing demands and needs of society. This changing dynamics call for an evaluation of the kind of services offered. It is imperative, therefore, that staff are professional, ethical, objective and uphold confidentiality of information in their custody.

‘Understand the customer you are dealing with and their expectations. While offering a service, ask yourself whether you have met the customers’ expectations,’ he challenged them.
