The Vice Chancellor Prof. Linus M. Gitonga held a meeting with the members of staff from various departments from the University at the Conference Hall. The aim of the meeting was to encourage team work, harmony and dialogue within the University as well as listen to the staff members’ concerns. In attendance was the Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor Planning Finance and Administration, Prof. Richard Kiai, Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor ARSA Prof. Hellen Kamiri, and Ag.Registrar PF&A, Mr.Murage. The VC and his team later shared lunch with the staff members after the meeting.

Speaking during the meeting the Ag. DVC, ARSA appreciated the members of staff for their contribution to the University. She encouraged them to be proud of their work and contributions that they make for the betterment of the institution.
On the hand, the Ag. DVC, PF&A encouraged the staff to engage more with the top management. He emphasized on the need to create positive impressions about the University. He urged the members of staff to develop themselves and grow with the little that they have. Lastly, he appreciated them for being part of the team that changes people’s lives at the University.
In his remarks the Vice Chancellor appreciated the members of staff for their support of the University. They were encouraged to play their part, share issues and matters to be discussed by relevant parties for improved service delivery at the University. The VC further observed that as a family, members of staff should carry themselves with dignity and treat their colleagues with the same. He encouraged them to let everybody feel valued, self-important and dignified. He further encouraged them to strive to grasp, grow and move forward in their career advancement since there are enough resources for everybody.

The VC also emphasized on the need for members to help and elevate each other. He promised that he was ready to help the members of staff grow and advance. But the staff members are to give good reasons so as to be helped in their career growth and advancement, he added.
The members of staff shared their issues with the management and requested the VC to resolve the various challenges that they had been facing. It was noted that there was need to engage more and raise issues for deliberation. They appreciated the opportunity accorded them by the VC to share their issues and concerns.
