Karatina University, a Chartered Public University was established as a corporate body with a vision to be a university of global excellence meeting the dynamic needs of the society. This is to be achieved through training, research, innovation and community outreach.
In recognition of the noble role of serving the community, Karatina University has engaged proactively in outreach activities. The quest for community outreach strives to ensure that the knowledge generated from the university is converted into useful applications for the betterment of the society. The University is alive to its social responsibility and, therefore endeavors to engage with all relevant communities in the pursuit of knowledge and innovation to harness the results stemming from the process of research, innovation, teaching and learning. All outreach activities are in tandem with the Medium Term University Strategic Plan that seeks enhancement of extension services and technology transfer to the community all, in with the vision and mission of the University.
Here-in presented therefore, is a compilation of the core Community Outreach activities undertaken in the academic year 2020/2021 for website hosting. The Report significantly captures each activity in line with the strategic direction of the University.
Corporate Social responsibility (CSR) activities are critical part of the strategies captured in the Karatina Universities Medium Term Strategic plan. The University prioritized its CSR activities as discussed below and implemented them within the approved budgets.
