The Commission for University Education undertook a a rigorous inspection audit of Karatina University during from 24th to 27th March, 2025. The Audit focused on the quality of programs offered by the University, facilities, processes among others. Led by Prof. James Tuitoek, the eleven-member delegation from CUE conducted the evaluation in accordance with various regulatory frameworks, including the Universities Act 2012, revised University Regulations 2023, CUE Regulations, and Standards for University Education.

This audit, which is conducted every five years, aims to evaluate all aspects of the university’s operations to ensure alignment with CUE guidelines, technological shifts, and statutory requirements. The four-day site inspection which kicks off today earmarks inspecting resources, institutional governance and management, curriculum development, library services, financial management, physical infrastructure, and student and human resources. The team will base its assessment on evidence provided by the university across these parameters.
