On 18th and 21st February 2022, the Coordinator Community Outreach, Dr J. Kagema visited Iruri Primary School, Ndunduini Primary School, Tumutumu Primary School and Chaka Primary School. During the visit, the Centre for Community Outreach assisted the schools in setting up Environmental clubs, made watering cans and spades donations, sensitized the students on the importance of environment conservation and distributed calendars.
This initiative has been a partnership venture with Rufford Foundation UK with one of the objectives of the partnership being the establishment of Nature Clubs in selected primary to ensure the young pupils are introduced to issues of nature conservation early in life.
The schools are spread in Mathira East, Mathira West, Mukurweini, Othaya, Kieni East, Kieni West and Tetu sub-counties.
