Karatina University management today, September 12, 2022, held a collaborative meeting with the top leadership of the Youth Enterprise Development Fund. Led by the Acting Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Benson Muthendi, the team was received by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Mucai Muchiri and the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic, Research and Students Affairs), Prof. Peninah Aloo-Obudho.
Discussions centred on the Fund’s interest to support students in incubating innovations that would promote self-reliance and drive Kenya’s economic growth. This is in line with the Fund’s mandate of providing entrepreneurship, training, mentorship as well as market support and linkages to youth-owned enterprises.
General areas of collaboration were outlined among them sensitizing students on innovations and educating them on available opportunities, pairing student innovations with industry players for possible commercialisation and offering technical knowledge and guidance to the students.
