Recruitment and Training of Peer Counsellors

This is to bring to your attention that the counselling section wishes to identify suitable students to be recruited and trained to become effective peer counsellors.

The selected individuals will undergo training in the following areas:

  • Basic psychological counselling skills
  • Prevention of Drugs and Substance Abuse
  • University policies related to students’ day to day experiences in the university.
  • Psycho social and academic implications of COVID 19 amongst university students. 
  • Mental health among university students
  • Assertiveness skills training
  • Strategies for promoting self-esteem

This is therefore to invite applications from interested students.

Main Campus: Dean of Students’ office

Town Annex: Counselling Office at 4th Floor or reception at Annex

Applications should be handed over on or before Tuesday 9th   November 2021

  The applications should include among others, Contact, registration number, residence, the year of study and the Degree programme one is undertaking.

Vacancies are as follows:

  • Main Campus 30(thirty) trainees
  • Town Annex – 10(ten) trainees

The shortlisted candidates will be trained for three days 13th, 14thand 20th November 2021

  Senior Students’ Counsellor
