Karatina University proudly participated in the Kenya Universities Staff Association (KUSA) Staff Games held on Saturday 14th June 2025 at Dedan Kimathi University of Technology (DeKUT). The exciting event brought together staff teams from various universities including the host DeKUT, South Eastern Kenya University (SEKU), Murang’a University of Technology, Mount Kenya University, KCA University, Chuka University, University of Embu, Tharaka University, among others.

Karatina University staff competed in multiple disciplines including mens’ and womens’ volleyball, womens’ netball, darts, chess, football, and athletics. Across all games, the teams gave a commendable performance, demonstrating determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The womens’ volleyball team emerged position 1, while the womens’ darts team, led by Ms. Catherine Wangui, secured position 2. The athletics team also performed strongly, adding to the University’s success at the event.
Overall, Karatina University’s participation was marked by excellence, unity, and pride, as the staff showcased not only their competitive spirit but also the values of collaboration and wellness that the games aim to promote.
The event offered an excellent platform for fostering camaraderie, physical well-being, and inter-university collaboration through healthy competition and sportsmanship.
