Dr. Malanga Kennedy Ndenga

Dr. Malanga Kennedy Ndenga is a senior lecturer and Dean of the School of Computing and Informatics. In addition to steering the school, he teaches, carries out research, and mentors junior researchers in Computer Science. Malanga has research interests in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data science, and Empirical Software Engineering with a focus on developing solutions for societal problems. He has published several journal and conference articles in these areas and made contributions of resources on Github and Kaggle. He has previously held leadership portfolios  at his previous work places. Malanga is also a consultant of Digital Space Consultants and the Commission for University Education (C.U.E). He carried out his doctoral research at the Laboratoire d’Informatique Avancée de Saint-Denis (LIASD) of the University of Paris 8 (France) where he was awarded a PhD. in Computer Science.

  • Dr. Mwai Josphat Karani is a Lecturer in the Department of Informatics and Innovation at Karatina University. He holds a PhD in Information Technology, a Master of Science in Computer Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology.

  • Dr. Thomas Kinyanjui Njoroge is a PhD-trained Artificial Intelligence researcher and applied machine learning engineer specializing in deep learning, edge-optimized AI, and multimodal intelligence systems. He also serves as the Head of the Department of Computing.

  • Dr. Harriet Loice Tsinale is a seasoned Kenyan academic, researcher, and academic leader with over ten years of experience in university teaching, research, curriculum development, academic administration, and quality assurance in Computer Science and Information Technology.

  • Dr. Hellen M. Ndegwa (PhD, LIS) is a dedicated scholar and lecturer in the School of Computing and Informatics, Department of Informatics and Innovation at Karatina University, with over 13 years of experience in teaching and mentoring students in information sciences and knowledge management.

  • Dr. Gilbert Barasa Mugeni is a Commonwealth Professional Scholarship fellow and Senior Lecturer in the School of Computing and Informatics, Department of Informatics and Innovation. He is the immediate past Director, ICT at Karatina University. Prior to this, Dr. Mugeni, worked at the Communications Authority of Kenya for over 30years.
