Karatina University on Thursday 30th November 2023 hosted a team of researchers from the University of Wisconsin La Crosse (UWL), USA.

The team was received by the Ag. Deputy Vice Chancellor, PF&A, Prof. Richard Kiai on behalf of the Vice Chancellor. The visiting team included the guest lecturer Prof. Daniel an associate professor in the Department of Geography and Environmental sciences at the University of Wisconsin- La Crosse. The team is working on a comparative research study on “Navigating Contradictions: Community Conservancies and Community Well-being in Northern Kenya”. The study focuses on conservancies under the management of the Northern Rangeland Trust (NRT) with a particular emphasis on the Impact of conservation and development models, Global disruptions and community conservancy efficacy.
