On Wednesday, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Linus M. Gitonga, accompanied by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Finance & Administration), Prof. Richard Kiai, and the Registrar (Planning & Administration), Mr. Richard Ruhiu held an interactive session with members of the School of Health Sciences.
The meeting provided a platform to chart the way forward, share ideas on growth, explore opportunities for improvement, and address challenges facing the School. During the engagement the VC urged the School to define its own niche areas in health sciences and research that will contribute to the overall growth of the University and the field of health sciences globally. He emphasized that beyond teaching, the School must focus on producing graduates equipped with global skills, capable of thriving in any part of the world.

He further reassured members that the University Management is committed to the growth of the School by investing in its development, including building, equipping, and furnishing facilities to support teaching and research. He encouraged members to share their vision, mission, and innovative ideas with Management, noting that as professionals in the field, their insights are vital in shaping the School’s future.
Together, the University remains dedicated to building a stronger Karatina University and positioning the School of Health Sciences as a leader in training health professionals.
