Karatina University is pleased to announce the appointment of CPA Prof. Richard M.Kiai, PhD as the substantive Deputy Vice Chancellor – Planning, Finance and Administration (DVC–PFA), effective 3rd June 2025.
Prof. Kiai has been serving in an acting capacity in the same role and previously held the position of Dean, School of Business. He is an Associate Professor of Finance and holds a PhD in Finance from Karatina University. His professional qualifications include Certified Public Accountant (K), Certified Investment and Financial Analyst, and Certified Information Systems Auditor.
With nearly two decades of experience in academic leadership, finance, and public service, Prof. Kiai brings a wealth of expertise and a strategic perspective to the University’s planning, finance, and administrative functions. His career spans roles in audit, quality assurance, research, and university governance, making him well-positioned to steer the division towards greater efficiency and impact.
