On Wednesday, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Linus M. Gitonga, accompanied by the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Planning, Finance & Administration), Prof. Richard Kiai, and the Registrar (Planning & Administration), Mr.Richard Ruhiu engaged members of the Faculty of Computer Science and Informatics in an interactive session to chart the way forward for the faculty.

The meeting created space for dialogue on growth, innovation, and the faculty’s contribution to the University’s strategic vision. Discussions focused on strengthening academic programs, enhancing research and innovation, and the long-term plan of establishing a state-of-the-art computing complex to anchor the University’s leadership in digital transformation.

In his remarks, the VC encouraged faculty members to grow both personally and professionally, urging them to define their niche areas and create a clear roadmap of where they want the faculty to be in the coming years. “Build your dream structure. Walk and work together for growth. The journey towards your destination rests upon all of us -not only for yourselves, but also for the students you serve,” he said.
The Vice Chancellor emphasized the importance of future-fit solutions, stronger industry alignment, and nurturing talent that can play a leading role in Kenya’s digital transformation. He further noted that Management is committed to supporting the growth of the faculty and encouraged continuous engagement to keep shaping the faculty’s future.
