ELECTION OF THE 2023/2024 STUDENTS’ GOVERNING COUNCIL

The Karatina University students went to elections on Monday 27^th November, 2023 to elect a new Students’ Governing Council for the year 2023/2024. The elections Returning Officer, was Dr. Flora Namu, assisted by Deputy Returning Officers, Dr. Esther Kahariri. The Dean of Students, Mr. Paul Ngugi and Dr. Jared Motanya from the Department of Education witnessed the process. After she was satisfied with voting process, the Returning Officer announced the newly elected student leadership the same day.

The elected student leaders are:

1. Chairperson – Rono Kimutai Elijah
2. Vice Chairperson – Zipporah Wachera Micheni
3. Secretary General – William Endeche Mutembesi 
4. Treasurer – Alex Mugendi
5. Director, Academics – Mark Collins Kalama
6. Director, Special Needs, Gender and International Relations – Muriuki Kinya Vivian
7. Director Sports, Games and Entertainment – Peter Munyoki Musyoki
