5). How  do I pay fees?

Answer:  Fees is payable  to any branch of Cooperative  or Equity Bank  or Mpesa pay bill with details asfollows;

6) Is it mandatory to reside in the University Hostels?

University has a limit to accommodate  residential students. Students who complete payment of fees and accommodation (Kshs.  6,500/  =) will be considered on First: Pay- First Accommodated  basis  (Beds and Mattresses  are available) till the capacity is achieved. Accommodation fees  is paid to the accounts provided  in 5). Those who will be accommodated  in the University will fill the Resident Accommodation  form. Those who will not be accommodated  at the University are advised to seelc prior arrangement for accommodation  outside the University fill the Non-Resident Accommodation  form  and provide  on reporting date.

7) What documents  are needed during reporting day?

Answer: All First Year Students  are required to carry along with them Original and Photocopies of all documents  as outlined  in the admission letter and Joining instructions.

 

8) Is National Identity Card a requirement for registration?

Answer: You will only be registered if you provide Original National Identity  Card and its Photocopy OR Original Birth Certificate and its Photocopy.

9) Is Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE)a requirement for registration?

Answer: You will only be registered if you provide Original KCPE Certificate and its Photocopy. In case a candidate does not have the Original KCPE Certificate, He/She should contact Kenya National Examination  Council (KNEC) early   enough before reporting  day  and request for a confidential report to Karatina  University. KNEC has charges for  this request that is met by the student. The candidate will then come with KNEC receipt  on reporting date.

10) Is Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE)a requirement for registration?

Answer: You will only be registered if you provide Original KCSE Certificate and its Photocopy. In case a candidate does not have the Original KCSE Certificate or Original KCSE result slip, He/She  should contact Kenya National Examination  Council (KNEC) early enough before reporting day and request for a confidential report to Karatina University. KNEC has  charges for  this request that is met by the student. The candidate will then come with KNEC receipt on reporting date.

11) Where  do I go for medical Examination?

Answer: Students are required to be examined at any GOVERNMENT health facility  by a Medical doctor to fill the Medical form

12)  Is National Hospital Insurance Fund  (NHIF) card a requirement

Answer: You will only be registered if you provide NHIF Card registration card and its photocopy. Students  who are yet to attain 18 years of age and are listed as beneficiaries of their parents NHIF card will need to provide Original NHIF card and photocopy  of the parent.  Those who have attained 18 years of age are required to visit any NHIF office and pay for  acquisition of the card. They will then report with a copy of waiting  card for reporting.

Can I change the programme I was placed to?

Answer: After reporting, students  will be communicated on a date to place requests for change of programmes. Requests will only be granted if the studentfulfi.ls  all requirements as follows:

1)  The student has met KUCCPS Cluster Points of the programme he/she seeks to change to,·

2)   The student has met programme Professional Requirements like Teachers Service

Commission, Nursing Council etc and;

3)  There is a vacancy in the programme intended for change.
