On November 15th 2023, Kiswahili students from Karatina University who are members of Chama Cha Kiswahili katika Chuo Kikuu cha Karatina (CHAKIKA) attended a Seminar on Literature and Language at the Wasta Institute located in Ngong on the invitation of Wasta Director Wallah Bin Walla. In the Seminar, several issues were discussed and the students really enjoyed and learned a lot from the presentations by various Kiswahili experts from all over Kenya who were in attendance. After the Seminar, each student was presented with a certificate of participation. The Wasta Director promised that every year Kiswahili students from Karatina University will be invited to similar seminars as well as 10-10 events that are held every year on 10th October.
CHAKIKA Patron, Prof. Joseph Nyehita Maitaria accompanied the students to the Seminar. The leaders of the Club, Keith Wafula (Third Year), Doreen Benson (Third year) and Dennis Ngatia (Third Year) were also in attendance. A total of 61 members of CHAKIKA attended. It was due to the popularity of the Club that these students were invited for the Seminar.
