Ivy Mutai is a distinguished alumna of Karatina University’s School of Pure and Applied Sciences whose journey reflects excellence in biomedical research and leadership. Beyond her research, she serves as President of the Phage Kenya Consortium, leading initiatives to establish phage laboratories and expand research capacity across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a vision of promoting local phage manufacturing to combat antimicrobial resistance.

Her training at Karatina University provided a strong academic and practical foundation, supported by dedicated lecturers and a collaborative learning environment. This inspired her pursuit of research through institutions such as KEMRI and KIPRE, where she developed critical laboratory and analytical skills.
