On Saturday, 16th August 2025, Karatina University, in partnership with the Aga Khan University Hospital, City Eye Hospital, and Nyeri County Government, successfully hosted a Free Medical Camp at Kahuru Comprehensive School in Iria-ini Ward, Nyeri County. The event was organized through the University’s Directorate of Community Outreach as part of our ongoing commitment to improving community welfare and enhancing access to healthcare services.

The medical camp brought together a team of professionals, including staff from the University’s clinic department, department of Food Sciences and Nutrition staff and students led by Ms. Lydia Asiko. Over 330 community members benefited from free medical services, including:

Beyond offering treatment, the camp also focused on empowering the community through health education and awareness, equipping participants with knowledge to lead healthier lives. Students from the Department of Food Sciences and Nutrition played an active role by educating the community on nutrition, wellness, and engaging them in simple exercises aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles.
